Craftsmanship since 1979

A family-owned cabinetry shop in Wausau, WI, built on four decades of hands-on woodworking.

Our Story

From a garage in Wausau to the area's leading cabinet shop

Woodcraft Specialties was founded by Jeff Plautz in 1979, starting out of his father's garage. Over more than four decades, that one-man operation grew into the leading custom and refacing cabinetry business in the Wausau area — built on a simple promise: high-quality materials, fair prices, and satisfaction guaranteed.

Today the business is led by Jeff’s son, Ethan, who returned home to Wausau after seven years in the U.S. Air Force to carry the company into its next chapter. As President and CEO, Ethan continues the family tradition of true craftsmanship while expanding into countertops and growing the team.
